Mentally Handicapped School Sensory Garden
Commissioned to deliver a sensory garden for the school, we designed in visual, smell, sound and touch in an area of the school grounds that was totally unusable for the children.
Rendered walls to keep it bright and clean with LED lighting built into the walls for those dark times.
Vibrant colours in the planting and the stunning shade sails give this a stunning uplift, the planting also took in culinary plants for the in house cooking classes for the older students.
A water wall gave sound and visual effect along with mirrors to change your shape, adding a bit of fun for the children.
Tiger prints added into the resin bound surface gave the children entertainment following them around the project
Grooved hardwood decking gave a rumbling sound as the wheelchairs passed over the boards and also a place to sit in the warm sun.
An enclosed pergola gave children a place to retreat to and fell safe.
An amazing project that we will never forget.
